Ultimate Drive IQ (“the game”, “we”, “us”) is a free daily football trivia game. This page explains what we collect, why, who helps us run the game, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You can play as a guest without an account. Guests have nothing saved to an account.
- If you create an account, we store your Google email address, your username, and your game results.
- We don’t sell your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other sites.
- You can delete your account and everything saved with it at any time: Menu → Delete account.
What we collect
If you play as a guest. Nothing is saved to an account. Your own device remembers today’s result and your settings (see “On your device” below). While you play, our server keeps a temporary record of the drive in progress (your answers and when you gave them, with no name or email) so it can check and score them. It is deleted within a couple of days. Like any website, our hosting provider receives ordinary request details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, and keeps them in short-lived server logs.
If you create an account. We, or the sign-in service we use on our behalf, store:
- From Google: your email address, and the name and profile photo link on your Google account. The game never shows or uses your Google name or photo. They are kept only as part of your sign-in record.
- Sign-in details: secure tokens that keep you signed in, plus, for each session, the IP address and browser type it started from.
- Your username: the name you choose when you create your account. You can change it at any time. We start you with a placeholder name until you do.
- Your drive in progress: the same temporary record described above, linked to your account while the drive is being played. It is deleted within a couple of days, or straight away if you delete your account.
- Your game record: games played, your record (wins, ties and other finishes), total yards, best rarity score, your daily streak, and for each day you played: the date, the result, the yards, and the answers you gave on each down.
- Your settings (such as reduced motion), when your account was created and last played, and when you agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy (and which version).
If you sign in with Google but don’t create an account. If you choose Sign in without having an account here, or don’t tick the box to agree to the Terms when creating one, we delete what Google sent us straight away and you stay a guest.
Feedback you send. If you use the feedback form, we store your message (up to 300 characters), whether it is an idea or something that isn’t working, the date, and the email or handle you choose to add. If you’re signed in, it’s linked to your account and removed if you delete your account. You don’t need an account to send feedback.
Technical information. To protect the game from abuse, we count how often certain features are used: by account id for signed-in players, and by IP address for visitors and for error reports. These counts are deleted after about a day. If the game hits an error in your browser, we may receive the error message, the page address and your browser type, with no account details.
Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, the referring site, and your approximate country, device and browser. It is designed to work without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
How we use it
- To run the game: deliver the daily drive, keep one drive per day, and save your stats and streak.
- To keep you signed in and keep your account secure.
- To protect the game from abuse and fix errors.
- To understand how many people play, so we can improve the game.
We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t sell it.
Who handles it
These companies process information for us, under their own terms and privacy policies:
- Google signs you in. We never see your Google password.
- Neon hosts our database and the sign-in service that stores your account.
- Vercel hosts the game and provides visit analytics.
Their servers are in the United States, so your information is processed there. We don’t share your information with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
On your device
The game saves a few things in your browser:
- Local storage: today’s result (so the game knows you’ve already played today) and your settings.
- Sign-in cookies: needed to keep you signed in. They are only set if you sign in.
- Two short-lived cookies (about 10 minutes) that remember, while you visit Google, whether you pressed Sign in or Create account, and whether you ticked the box to agree to the Terms.
We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear this data in your browser settings at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information until you delete your account. Deleting your account removes your username, stats, streak, saved drives and sign-in record straight away. Our providers may hold short-term backups or logs for a limited time before they are overwritten. Server logs are short-lived, and request counts are deleted after about a day.
Your choices and rights
- Change your username with the pencil next to your name on the Account screen.
- Delete your account from Menu → Delete account.
- Ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [contact email to be added].
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have additional rights, such as access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object. Email us and we’ll help. We don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising.
Children
The game is for people aged 13 and over, and we don’t knowingly collect information from younger children. If you believe a child has created an account, email [contact email to be added] and we’ll delete it.
Security
Connections to the game are encrypted, and access to our database is restricted. No online service is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll let players know in the game.
